KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Christian hip-hop artist and media personality DJ Noble has released his new single, “The Spotlight,” featuring tonyxtrotter, D.Faith and JusRzd.
Distributed by Ocean House Music, the collaborative Christian hip-hop track challenges a culture increasingly centered on recognition, followers, streams, applause and status by asking a more important question: When the spotlight is on you, what are you pointing people toward?
At its heart, “The Spotlight” is about redirecting attention away from self and giving glory to God. While artists naturally pursue opportunities for their music to reach wider audiences, the song examines the motivation behind that visibility and reminds listeners that a platform is not ultimately about being seen — it is about what someone chooses to point others toward when people are paying attention.
Each artist brings a different perspective to that message, but the common thread remains the same: The microphone may be in their hands, but Jesus is the reason for the message.
For Noble, that theme goes beyond the music itself.
“The Spotlight has never been about my story,” Noble says. “The story depicted of my life always points to the Cross and His vastness, and His existence. During this season, it is a goal of mine to continuously reflect Jesus in all that I do.”
The spiritual foundation behind “The Spotlight” connects with several passages of Scripture, including John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease,” as well as Matthew 5:16, which calls believers to let their light shine in a way that ultimately brings glory to God.
The song also reflects the message of Colossians 3:17 and 1 Corinthians 10:31, reminding listeners that whatever they have been given to do should ultimately be done for the glory of God.
That message is not limited to artists or people standing on a stage.
“The Spotlight” challenges listeners to recognize that everyone carries some measure of influence — whether in their family, workplace, church, school, ministry, social media presence or community. The question becomes not whether someone has a spotlight, but what they do with it when others are watching.
Ultimately, Noble hopes the record inspires listeners to steward their influence with purpose, humility and boldness while remembering that the spotlight was never intended to end with them.
“The Spotlight” was written by Noel Schneeberger, Tony Trotter Jr., Spencer Goodrich and Justin Martinez. The track was produced by Marv4MoBeats, recorded by Brandon Charleston and mastered by Liz Robson.
